Sound familiar?

You reach the end of the day and realise you haven't felt your feet since morning. Shoulders up by your ears, jaw tight, mind still in the inbox. You tried a yoga class once and spent the hour comparing your pose to the woman on the next mat. Now you're lying in bed, body done, head still running.

With Reeborn

Tonight you put a towel on the floor and press play. Lawrence asks you to feel your feet. Then to shake, slowly, for a minute. Nobody is watching and there's no pose to get right. Twenty minutes later you notice your jaw has let go. You answer two questions in your journal and close the day in your body, not your head.

What somatic movement is

Somatic movement is slow, attentive movement where the point is not the shape you make but what you notice while you make it: breath, weight, tension, the small urge to stop or to keep going. Instead of pushing through, you listen. Many people come to it because they live mostly in their head and want a simple, kind way back into the body.

Inside Meet Your Body

Five video lessons of about 20 minutes each, to follow at home with a bit of floor space. No experience needed. Each lesson is split into short chapters, so you can see what is coming and go at your own pace.

  1. Introduction · grounding (free): feeling your feet, finding your breath, a gentle shake, a fluid spine, rest on your back.
  2. Befriending Sensations · non-judgment: shaking, twists, squats, tapping and a seated body scan.
  3. Expanding Capacity · resilience: box breathing, hands on heart and belly, lunges and folds, sitting with sensation.
  4. Embodying Self: balance, tree pose, lion's breath and a closing meditation, with parts work woven in.
  5. Integration: freestyle on the floor, meeting resistance, a body scan, talking with the parts, bumblebee breath.

At the end of each lesson there are a few short questions to reflect on. Your answers go to your private journal, and you can talk them through with Aria, the AI guide in Reeborn who remembers what you share.

More ways back into the body

Around the program, Reeborn has guided breathwork, meditation and Yoga Nidra from 2 to 30 minutes, so you can keep a short daily practice between lessons. Move gently and stay within what feels comfortable. If you are pregnant or have a heart condition, high blood pressure, epilepsy or another medical condition, talk to a doctor before starting breath or movement practices.

Which one fits

If you want a beautiful, long-term record of your life on every device, Day One is a strong choice. If AI journaling in many languages, on Android or the web, matters most, look at Rosebud. Stoic suits a structured morning and evening routine. Open is built around teacher-led breathwork and movement classes. Reeborn is for when you want to talk things through out loud with a guide who remembers you, go into shadow work, and come back to your body, all in one iPhone app.

★★★★★

A space to slow down and come back to myself

I’ve been using Reeborn for a week and it’s become part of my evenings. I finally have a space to put my feelings into words, and the app helps me explore what’s underneath my thoughts and emotions instead of just logging them. The daily prompts are always on point, connected to what I shared that week or even that same day. At night, I do the somatic movement exercises and a guided meditation before bed. As a mom who’s intentionally slowing down her life, closing the day in my body instead of my head has made a real difference. It fits beautifully with the way I want to live.

Questions

What is Meet Your Body?

A video program in the Reeborn app with somatic facilitator Lawrence Jay: five lessons of about 20 minutes that combine slow movement, breath and parts work, with a few reflection questions after each lesson.

Who is Lawrence Jay?

Lawrence Jay is a somatic facilitator with nearly 20 years of teaching. He leads every lesson of Meet Your Body on video.

Do I need experience with yoga or movement?

No experience is needed. Move gently, stay within what feels comfortable, and skip or rest whenever you want. If you are pregnant or have a heart condition, high blood pressure, epilepsy or another medical condition, talk to a doctor first.

Is Meet Your Body free?

Lesson 1 is free in the Reeborn app. Lessons 2 to 5 come with a Core or Voice subscription. Core costs $9.99 a month or $39.99 a year and Voice $21.99 a month or $109.99 a year in the US App Store (prices vary by country). Yearly plans start with a 7-day free trial.

Is somatic movement the same as yoga?

They overlap: you will meet familiar shapes like cat-cow, tree pose and forward folds. The difference is the focus. In somatic movement the point is what you notice inside while you move, not how the pose looks.
